Abstract winter scene:

It's funny, you never know where things will lead when you head out on a photo shoot. I went to Lost Island Lake this afternoon to see what I could find in the way of winter scenes. I had a few things in mind but was keeping my mind open to what I could find.

I spent some time capturing a few moments here and as the light was dimming, I noticed a nice light from the sunset through some nearby trees. I finally had to quit, so I headed home to see what I'd captured. As soon as I saw the above image, I knew I had to do a wood cut print look. I've always like that technique so I worked for some time until I got just the look I wanted.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year:

There are so many things during the holidays that remind of us of times past and for me when the poinsettia arrives, I know Christmas is coming soon. We have a new grand daughter born this month and everyone is so excited and this gives us an extra reason to be thankful this year.
