As many of you know- I like to capture images during the golden hours- those wonderful times just after sunrise and just before sunset. The above image was captured just a short time after sunrise and I really love the rich colors that were created. I never seem to tire of capturing those beautiful cone flowers and I hope there will be more to come before they finally die off.

It's sunflower time again and I find myself drawn to the beautiful yellow fields. I also find myself in a painterly mood and I have finished these with a new software program from JixPix. If you've been following my blog for a while, you'll know that I really believe that only part of the fun is in getting the image. The rest of the enjoyment is in making the image mine, rather it be with software or with creative ways of capturing the image.
One of the questions photographers get asked about their images-" is that the way it looked when you captured that ? " I seldom get asked that question. I believe the the camera and the software are just tools to get me to the final result. I never represent my images as "journalistic "- they are what I want them to be .

This years abnormal weather has really effected the local flowers but we still have a few die-hards that are able to not only survive but bloom as well. The above image is of some mini-hollyhocks with the setting sun shining on a yellow lily in the back.
For some reason, I really like the black-eyed susans and always have fun capturing them each summer. Some of my favorite images I've taken are of the susans.
Of course- what would summer be with out the popular cone flower. I've added a little water color effect for this one. Well- just a quick stop today- as always- have a great week and thanks for stopping by.
